Museum of Cinema will allow to try on copies of historical dresses from films at the exhibition in Moscow

Visitors to the exhibition of costume artists "What is a Queen’s Dress?" , which is being prepared for the opening of the State Central Film Museum in Moscow this year, will be able to try copies of historical dresses from films, said to TASS director of the museum Larisa Bazhenova. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Film Museum.

The exhibition will be alive - our research fellow will give a workshop, and for this we are sewing several copies of historical costumes. Museum items cannot be touched, but copies can be made. <... > Visitors will be able to try on copies of costumes," said the agency interviewer.

According to Bazhenova, the exhibition will be dedicated to artists of cinema in historical costume. There are beautiful artists who are very fond of the historical costume. And before they do anything, they really rework a huge amount of literature, historical material, and archives to recreate images not just beautifully but also historically literate,' she shared.

Bazhenova added that the organizers of the exhibition plan to show how a multi-layered historical costume looks in layers. "And the most important thing, as it was fixed, hoped, in what order - let’s try to do it for our visitors," she specified.

The director of the museum noted that the exhibition would open a defile. There will be a transliteration of the historical costume, as it looked, and those elements of that costume that modern designers use now. For example, these are the corsets, the breeches and other things familiar to us all, that is, such a transition from history to modernity will be made , - emphasized the agency’s interlocutor.
