The exhibition of children’s drawings "Brother-cities through the eyes of children", dedicated to the 15th anniversary of brotherly ties between the Chinese city of Sanya and Khabarovsk, was opened in the Khabarovsk Museum of Local History. The exhibition included 15 works by schoolchildren from Sanya, writes the newspaper "Sanya Zhibao".
The exhibition featured drawings devoted to friendship between Russia and China, cultural diversity, peace and cooperation. In the drawings, young authors have combined symbols of two countries, city landmarks, national traditions and future imagery.
As noted in the Sanya Foreign Office, over 15 years of brotherly relations between cities, significant results have been achieved in humanitarian exchanges. The exhibition became part of a program to develop youth contacts and people’s diplomacy. The authorities of Sanya reported that in the future the parties intend to expand cooperation in the fields of education, culture, tourism and youth exchanges.
Sanya and Khabarovsk officially established brotherly relations in February 2011. During this time, the cities developed interaction in trade and economic, tourist and cultural spheres. An additional factor in the rapprochement was the opening of direct flights between the two cities.
The exhibition is organized following the results of an international competition of children’s creativity on the theme "Harmony, friendship, dream", announced by Khabarovsky among neighboring cities. The best works of the participants are presented in the exposition of the Museum of Local History.
