Over 875 million rubles. allocated for the supply of libraries in 2026 in Russia, reported during the council on the implementation of state policy in the sphere of the Russian language and peoples of Russia, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.
«Can’t help but mention our library network, the largest in the world. It is a key link in the implementation of the state language policy in the country. <... > We have identified problems in book collections in small towns and rural areas, where access to literature is particularly popular and on the other hand somewhat limited. Therefore, it should be noted that thanks to the grant, which was allocated between 2021 and 2025, more than 8 million 600 thousand copies were received in the library of Russia. For the year 2026, an additional 875 million 500 thousand rubles has been allocated for the supply of libraries, and this will certainly allow us to continue moving in this direction» , - stressed the head of the department.
Lyubimova noted that the Ministry of Culture implements a comprehensive approach to the preservation, development and popularization of the Russian language and languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
