Gingerbread masters from different regions of Russia will take part in the All-Russian festival "Gingerbread Day", which will be held on August 1 in the Tula Kremlin, the press service of the regional association of cultural development centers reports.
"About 50 gingerbread producers from 15 regions of Russia will come to the city to introduce guests to the recipe of the sweet souvenir and the traditions associated with it," the message says.At the Tula Region - Gingerbread Paradise fair, guests will be able to taste and buy gingerbread, as well as participate in workshops on their painting. Gastronomic brands and souvenir products will be presented at the Gostiny Dvor site.
The festival program will delight with variety: guests will enjoy the Tula Pressure Cooker samovar high-speed boiling championship, the Cipher quest through the territory of the Tula Kremlin and the exclusive exhibition of gingerbread craftsmanship "Tula 880: gingerbread Chronicle" - voting for the best work will take place there.
The novelty of the festival is the venue "Nihao, Tula!" - it will open a window into Chinese culture. A tea ceremony will be held here, moon cakes will be introduced, and a calligraphy master class will be offered.
Tula is the center of a unique gingerbread industry. The first mention of Tula gingerbread dates back to the 17th century. Currently, there is a gingerbread museum in Tula, as well as a monument to him near the Kremlin. Printed gingerbread cookies are molded using special boards. The molds for the famous delicacy have always been carved from hardwood, most often from pear, birch, linden. A wooden mold with a relief-deepened pattern was superimposed on the dough, and an image was printed on it.
